I opened my Yahoo! email a bit ago to see that there is a top story about Iran becoming closer to producing the materials that they need to be able to produce nuclear weapons. While I am not really amazed to hear this, I am a bit angry that they’ve been allowed to get this far. The leadership of this country has done nothing but bully other countries, make threats, and fund terrorist groups that end up hurting our troops that are fighting for freedom.
What I am really amazed about is that no one in the UN seems to be able to stand up to them and make their sanctions and the other actions stick. I know that in the past, the UN and the US have imposed sanctions and other punishments on countries that don’t follow the rules and it has worked. Yet, it seems that there are stories all the time about how the UN or some other group has sent a “nasty letter” to the leadership of Iran.
A letter? Really? I mean, people get nasty letters all the time, and I’m sure that these letters were put straight into File 13 when they arrived. Why in the hell would you even waste the time, effort, and trees to write a letter to them about how you might impose sanctions if they don’t stop. Wow. I’m amazed.
While I do have my own opinions on how they should be handled, I won’t voice them here… yet. But I will say that I think the UN and US and other countries around the world need to stand up and quit backing down to these terrorist leaders. Who cares if they’ll get mad? Who cares if they say they’ll start funding terrorists against the US – shit, they already do that. I mean really people… if you’re going to do something to take action against them, do it.
