End of the World: Solar Variation

Another theory that ties into the celestial impact and the environmental collapse, is the solar variation theories and studies that are currently being done and tested. A solar variation is a fluctuation in the energy that is given off by the sun (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_variation). These variations are of great interest to scientists and eschatologists due to the fact that they affect how the Earth’s climate will be and can help for scientists to predict any rise or fall in the temperatures of the Earth. While it was thought for a long time that the solar radiation that hit the Earth varied only slightly and not enough to cause any major change in the climate, it is now believed that it changes more than originally thought and cause major damage to the climate and the Earth itself.

During the studies of solar variations on the Earth, it was found that the amount of solar variations that hit the Earth’s atmosphere affected the weather on Earth. While the original way to measure these variations was to use solar constant values, modern day meteorologists have found that computers and programs written with these vaules in mind are a better way to determine the weather and the output of solar variation.

One other aspect to solar variations are sunspots, which are basically darkened spots on the sun’s surface (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunspot). These sunspots run in cycles that are still being determined by scientists to see if they have any type of significance to the Earth. But, it has been found that the more sunspots, the more radiation is released from the sun itself. Along with the sunspots, it has also been speculated that changed in the solar diameter could also be a culprit for the variations in radiation that is emitted from the sun. While these changes have been shown to be small, this is still a significant discovery. With the study of these spots and changes in the diameter of the sun, have come some predictions that could cause a major change in the climate of the Earth in the future if they are correct. One such theory is that over the next several centuries, the sun will continue to warm up and then cool down suddenly, causing a smaller version of the Ice Age here on Earth. This will last for around 500 years, and then the sun will kick back into high gear, and once more return the Earth to altithermal conditions that would create a swift rise in the temperatures of the Earth.

Another factor that can play into an end of the world senario are some of the other effects on the Earth that can be caused by solar variations. One such effect is an increase in the magnetic field that would damage electrical equipment and any type of electrical device that is on at the time of the flux. This would also cause a major fluctuation in the clouds and weather on Earth, producing some major storms all around the world.
