In this post, we’ll talk about three different things: genocide, failing economies, and diseases. While all three can easily equate a blog post all their own, we’re only going to talk about them in a smaller part. Each of these three are realistic problems that we’re already facing in the world today, not just end of the world prophecies that are written in some science book.
Genocide
Needless to say that genocide is another major cause of an end of the world prophecy and theory to emerge due to the fact that several wars throughout history have begun with the genocide of a people or culture. Therefore, genocide (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genocide) is yet one more aspect to the human problem that plagues the planet. A mass genocide that would be larger than the genocide of the Jewish people in World War II, would cause major economical impact anywhere in the world. It would not matter which group of people was targeted, a mass extinction of one entire group of people would not only cause a major void in the make-up of the human race, it would also cause war on a global scale since there are many countries around the world that would not stand for such a travesty. In turn, any genocide would lead to yet another World War, and this time, surely the use of weapons of mass destruction would be used.
Economic Problems
Following along the lines of war and societal collapse, economic problems and even an economic collapse is yet another factor that looms on the horizion of the end of the world. The impact of an economic disaster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_collapse) could not only cause the loss of money and jobs throughout the world, but could also cause mass death and hysteria. One example would be if a large stock market, like the United States, were to crash. If one looks at the Great Depression of the early twentieth century, you can see it problems that were caused by the crash of the stock market. Imagine this on a much larger scale today. While the economic impact would reach much, much further than the first crash did, the financial problem would have a more devastating impact on the global economy. Since the stock markets all over the world are tied into each other more so than earlier in the century, and other world economies are firmly entangled with each different market, a major crash in one could lead to a world-wide crash and major financial problems all over the world.
While this might not sound like it would cause a mass extinction of peoples, it will cause famine and mass chaos on a global level. For countries where people rely on the government or major companies to produce food, these factories would shut down, causing people who were reliant on these sources for their food to go into a panic trying to feed themselves and their families. Without food and an infrastructure in place, there would be a major breakout of riots, mass hysteria, and common diseases would flood the country and then the planet. Without the means to fight any of these issues, people would die from starvation, murders, suicides, and common diseases that are easily curable.
Oil, or the lack of it, does not seem like it would be something that would cause the end of the world, some chaos theorists believe that if the oil of the world were to run out of oil, it would not only cause problems in the countries that are reliant on the oil, like the United States, and are not prepared to deal with the impact that a major oil shortage or a complete loss of oil would cause, the economic impact would throw the country into chaos. Not only that, but the country who relies on the oil for it’s main source of exportation and money, will fall into a financial ruin that will in turn effect it’s people since there will be a mass unemployment, mass poverty, and again, mass hysteria in trying to feed and protect families.
Disease
While wars, overpopulation, and even societal collapse are enough to bring about an end of the world senario, disease plays a major role right along with any of these other factors. Thus, another theory about the end of the world caused by humanity has to do with diseases (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disease) that are rampant and ones that are dormant today. Over the history of mankind, there have been many plagues that have wiped out large portions of the population. These plagues, like the black death and even the flu, have been able to keep the population in check. But, today, with the medical research that is being done on these plagues and other diseases that are appearing, it is theoretical that some diseases could turn into “super viruses” that are resistant to any type of antibiotic or treatments, due to the fact that they have already been studied and pushed enough that they no longer respond to any of the modern medications.
This could prove to be a major blow to any population, and with the free reign of travel around the globe today, it would not take long for one infected person to spread the virus across the world and back, thus cementing it in every country and every walk of life. Especially in the countries that are already overrun with people that do not have access to medical facilities, people would die by the millions, with no where to put them. With the world’s population dying by the millions, there would be no government intervention, no research time, no drug, that could stop the spread of the disease and the eventual impact that it would have on the population of the planet.
How often do you write your blogs? I enjoy them a lot
Hi there,
I normally try to have at least a couple of posts a day, even if they are just news. So, there should be new posts daily. Thanks for checking my blog out and I’m glad that you’re enjoying them.
