Now, in my life, I’ve had my fair share of being talked down to by other people. It naturally happens when you’re a kid and a young adult, but it seems that the older you get, when people talk down to you – well, it just pisses you off. Nothing pisses me off more than a younger person talking down to be – especially when it’s about a subject that I actually know something about or in this case, which seems to happen a lot to me.
Anyone who has ever worked in an office environment will know exactly what I am talking about here – so let me set this all up for you: you have an office that is 80% women, a couple of them are larger girls and are cute but not super hot, a couple of them are older women who get along with everyone and keep their noses out of the gossip, a couple of them are the gossip hounds who spread it like a disease, and there are always a couple of the women (usually one in particular) who is really pretty and, for some reason, therefore the target of most of the shit in the office from the other women. This office can be anywhere – in any state, hell, even on the internet in an online environment where women all have to interact together.

So, here you are in your office, working your butt off, trying to make everything perfect so you aren’t the next one laid off. When BAM! You suddenly get chewed out by your boss for something that you really have no freakin’ clue what they are talking about. Hmmm…
Your boss leaves you alone with your reeling thoughts and suddenly it hits you… you’ve just been basically bitch slapped by one of your co-workers who simply doesn’t like you.
Wow. Is the office world really like this?
Hell, it sure is and if you don’t think that I’m right, go find yourself an office job – especially one with a large group of women in it. You will see more cat fights, more back stabbings, more gossiping, and just more bullshit than anywhere else in the world.
Personally, I hate working in an office environment for this very reason. The ONLY office I have ever worked in where I loved my job was when I worked in an office full of men. All I had to say was that I had PMS and they left me the hell alone and normally all found a reason to get out of the office for the day. What is better than that?
Men are so much easier to work with than women in an office environment and here is why: men have no problem telling you that they think you’re full of shit or that they just basically don’t like you. Women, on the other hand, love to be sneaky about it and fully embarrass you for no earthly reason other than they are threatened by you. It amazes me.
I don’t understand this reasoning at all. But, with the different office environments that I’ve seen and been a part of – this is always the case. I’m sure that sitting there reading this right now, you are nodding your head and you can picture all of the different types of office women I mentioned… if you can’t figure out who one particular person is… chances are – it’s you.
If women would just stop all the little bullshit in office environments and actually tried to work together for the common good – do you realize how much better work would really be? What if women all had a “play time” during the afternoon and just duked it out in the parking lot or something like that? Maybe that would fix it… I don’t know.
I do know that I seriously hate office politics and I’m fed the hell up with them in any shape, fashion, or form. I’m sure you are too… and hopefully, we can all do something to stop them from continuing.
Know what you mean. I am a former elementary school principal who was supervising student teachers. On my first day I went in to visit with the principal and introduce myself. The next thing I know, I am called in by my supervisor and being accused of spying on the principal. This woman had me in her sights and I could do nothing right. I was terminated for being unprofessional.
